This tour revolves around the bustling ancient city of Kathmandu valley with a bit rural touch. Kathmandu the capital city of Nepal located at an altitude of 1,300 m above sea level. Kathmandu valley though small in size is the epicenters of culture and art and is home to the ancient Newari culture. Also, number of fascinating historical sites located in Kathmandu, as well as the cultural festivities means there is always something to do.  Among many historical sites, some of them are listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

This tour includes ancient palaces which is listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites and has some amazing and unique Newari architecture, centuries old Buddhist and Hindu religious sites. You will be walking through old narrow lanes, visiting local markets and opportunity to see the old carved house. This is the city where ancient traditions rub shoulder with latest technology.

Then this tour takes you approx. 40 km away to the tranquil village Balthali from the hustling bustling city of Kathmandu. The panoramic view of Himalayan peaks in the northern horizon, green terrace fields dotted with ochre painted houses; colorful rhododendron forest with numbers of birds is spectacular.

Day 1
Arrival

Upon arrival you will be warmly greeted by our representatives in the airport and takes you to your designated hotel. Before check in short briefing session will be arranged.

Day 2
Visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath and Pashupatinath Temple

After breakfast we drive to Kathmandu Durbar Square situated in the heart of the city. This ancient palace is also known as Hanuman Dhoka Durbar. This palace is named after Hanuman, the monkey god, as a stone statue of Hanuman is placed right next to the main entrance protecting the whole palace.

From here we walk through typical Nepali markets to busy touristic Thamel Area.

After that we drive to Boudhanath Stupa an ancient colossal stupa built during the 5th century. This is one of the biggest stupa in the world and is the center of world Tibetan Buddhism.

Then we visit to Pashupatinath Temple, a two tiered golden roof and silver door temple which is considered one of the four most important religious sites in Asia for devotees of God Shiva. Number of temples, ashrams, images and inscriptions are built here. This is a temple of Lord Shiva and the largest temple complex in Nepal.

Day 3
Drive to Balthali Village via Panauti

Today we drive to Balthali village which is around 40 km away from Kathmandu. On the way we will visit beautiful Newari village Panauti, one of the oldest towns in Nepal. Panauti is located between the two holy rivers called Punyemati and Roshi Khola. Panauti is also famous for the art gallery of beautiful and fine idols, woodcarving in the temple struts, doors and windows of the temples and monasteries. Another main attraction of this place is Indreshwor temple which is one of the largest and tallest pagoda style temples in Nepal.

After exploring this ancient town we drive 4 km to Khopasi from where we hike for an hour to the resort via Balthali Village for an overnight stay.

Option: We can take a drive on off road to reach resort.

Day 4
Explore Balthali Village

Today in the morning we will have tea and breakfast with a view of a Sunrise. Then hike towards a Ladku river (30 min walk) where we conduct a small river walking program and you may also enjoy swimming in Ladku River and then back to the resort. Typical Nepali Lunch at the resort and after Lunch Strolling around Dada Gaun (Typical Tamang Village).

Day 5
Drive back to Kathmandu via Namo Buddha & Bhaktapur Durbar Square

Today after breakfast we drive back to Kathmandu visiting enroute Namo Buddha and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Namo Buddha is one of the most important religious sites for the Buddhist in Nepal.

Then we drive to another historical site Bhaktapur Durbar Square located in Bhaktapur – city of devotee where you will find many fine examples of sculpture, woodcarving, and pagodas style temples dedicated to different gods and goddesses – the Nyatapol & Dattaraya Temples, Golden Gate, and Palace of 55 windows.

Day 6
Swayambhunath Stupa and Rest day

After breakfast today we will be visiting to the world’s most glorious Buddhist Chaitya Swayambhunath. Built in 250 BC and known to be the oldest in Nepal, this Stupa displays typical Buddhist architecture located in the small hill inside Kathmandu Valley. The vicinity of the Swayambhunath Stupa is surrounded by hundreds of other Buddhist shrines all around. After sightseeing to Swayambhunath it will be free day for you. You can do shopping, stroll around the street or you can take rest in the hotel.

Day 7
Departure

Today as per the flight schedule we transfer you to the Airport for your flight back home.
